Recently I went to the B&H Bild Expo here in New York City to find some inexpensive microphone recommendations. FYI the links below take you to my Amazon Affiliate pages. The mics won't cost you any more than usual but I get a few cents for sending your their way. Enjoy!
Mackie EM-91C EleMent Series Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone
If you're a voice actor who is early in your journey and you've got a small budget to work with this could be a very good starter mic for you.
Here is the blurb from their Amazon page: Compact with excellent studio-quality sound, EM-USB steps up the control with adjustable gain and mute plus a headphone output. This is the mic for those who want their mic to be the hub of their audio setup and the ability to fine tune their sound. $44.99
Audio-Technica AT2020USB-X Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone
This is also a condenser microphone and it also is very reasonably priced.
Here is the blurb from their Amazon page: The AT2020USB-X is a reimagining of the popular AT2020USB+ microphone with the convenience of plug-and-play USB-C operation. The AT2020USB-X was specially designed to meet the needs of content creators, making it the best mic for streaming, podcasting, recording music, gaming and video recording. $149
RØDE NT1 5th Generation Large-diaphragm Studio Condenser Microphone
The really cool thing about this one is that it has both an XLR port and a USB C Port. That makes it is both a USB and an XLR mic at the same time which makes it quite versatile. I've noticed voice actors who are early in their voiceover Journey tend to go with USB microphones. Those who are a little farther along in their Journey tend to go with XLR microphones. This one could be both an introductory microphone for you and when you transition to using an external audio interface or a mixing board.
Here is the blurb from their Amazon page: The NT1 5th Generation features RØDE’s state-of-the-art Dual Connect output, which features both XLR and USB connectivity. This allows you to connect it to an audio interface or mixer just like a traditional studio microphone or plug it straight into your computer for plug-and-play recording. $249
