GKN 4/30/12 – The Power of YouTube!

Good evening, fellow Knick fans! You are Knick fans, right? Watching Game 2 against the Heat whilst editing an audiobook and taking a quick break to craft your blog? That’s a hot Monday night if I’ve ever heard one…

First off, I want to say thanks to those of you who attended my Edge Studio webinar last week. The topic was “Keeping Clients Coming Back”. It was fun!

As you know, I use as many social media platforms as possible to ply my trade and market myself. One I never utilized was YouTube. Sure, I’m on it all the time checking out videos and finding clips of TV shows & movies for various reasons, but in the service of my voiceover career? Not so much.

So, about two weeks ago I was putting together my quarterly newsletter and I was trying to think of fun videos I’ve narrated to link up. So I went on Youtube and started running searches on projects I have narrated.

Wanna know how many videos I found? Twenty six. I was shocked. Dat’s a lot of videos! So I built a playlist and named it “My Voiceover Portfolio”. I would really appreciate it if you checked it out and did the “Like”, “Share”, and “Subscribe” thing.

You know what else I did? I added the playlist link to my email signature. Voila! Instant visual resume!

TIP OF THE WEEK

Go to YouTube, run searches on your projects, and build a playlist. Take that playlist link and add it to your email signature.

STUFF

I’m sure I’m not the first person to come up with this YouTube idea. Can anyone share ways to use YouTube as a marketing tool?
