I love Google Drive.
I bring this up because as recently as last year I posted this blog about cloud storage and Google Drive was one part of my data storage strategy. I’d also been using DropBox, Box, and OneDrive to store my data, MultCloud to sync my cloud storage websites, and Carbonite to back up my hard drive every day.
All gone!
I deleted my accounts for Box, OneDrive, and Multcloud. It was too much space, gray mail, and accounts that could get hacked into that I just don’t need. I also downgraded DropBox from a paid account to a free account. One day it stopped syncing and everything I’ve tried to do to fix it failed.
Now all of my stuff is on Google Drive. I pay for 1TB of space and it costs less than Dropbox.
Carbonite is gone, too. I got rid of it because Norton 360 had been backing up my hard drive every anyway AND it has a file restore function just like Carbonite. That’s one less thing I have to pay for!
TIP OF THE WEEK
Take the time to reexamine your cloud storage and backup situation every once in a while. You never know where you’re wasting money or unnecessarily exposing your data to threats. I do recommend Google Drive. Google Drive creates & manages documents, spreadsheets, slides, forms, and more. It also plays audio and video files.
